Morningside Community Meeting
2/4/2024
Meeting Minutes
On Sunday, February 4th, the annual meeting of the Morningside Home Owners Association was held in the Morningside Way Cul-de-sac. Board Chair Ben Whipple called the meeting to order shortly after 4:00 p.m.
The primary topic was the election of Board Members & Officers:
- Ben Whipple has decided to step down from his position as HOA president. He will continue to assist the new HOA president and HOA board as needed.
- Tommy McCullers has volunteered as HOA president and was unanimously elected to the position.
- All other HOA Board members will remain in their current duties as they were willing to continue serving, but would step aside if other neighbors wanted to get involved.
- 2024 HOA board was unanimously elected/re-elected:
- Tommy McCullers, President (new)
- Benny Nixon, Vice President
- Matt Huff, Treasurer
- Jimmy Newland, Secretary
- Vanessa Gravley
- Andrew Johnson
- Mike Pilcher
- Ben Whipple
The second big topic was the budget/finances:
- Ben explained the detention ponds between Hodges Mill Rd and Morningside Way would have to be cleaned due to waterflow from Morningside into Brookhaven. This is at the request of Brookhaven and Oconee County.
- Dues will remain $400 and are due at the end of February. However, an increase in dues for 2025 is a strong possibility.
The floor was opened for input, questions, and suggestions. There were no requests from those in attendance.
After everyone had a chance to speak, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tommy McCullers
Morningside HOA President
